Watching the movie Unleashed (aka Danny the Dog) tonight I was reminded (by the Bob Hoskins character) of how our management views us, their workers. What we are are tools, means to an end, not really human. They can relate to us only insofar as we are a benefit to them, how effective we are at getting them their bonuses and praise from their masters. Anything else, our needs, our enjoyment of our work, all of it is irrelevant since it doesn't get them what they want.
